The power to change the uni experience - Students as Change Agents
Friday Dec 08, 2023
Friday Dec 08, 2023
In this episode we discuss Students as Change Agents, a scheme that empowers our students to lead projects that will improve the Uni experience for themselves and their peers. Weâre joined by Ella Taviner and Andrea Namirembe who, in their final year as History students, co-led a project to develop guidance on the use of content warnings in academia. We also hear from Rachel Griffiths, our Senior Education Developer who supported their project.
Their project findings were subsequently published as a case study on the Times Higher Education website and in their Navigating Content Warnings blog and has since been developed into a toolkit for our teaching colleagues at the Uni.
You can find out more about our Students as Change Agents Scheme at www.exeter.ac.uk/changeagents.

Success for all â supporting students into higher education
Monday May 23, 2022
Monday May 23, 2022
At the University of Exeter weâre working to create a fair, socially just and inclusive society, and believe that fair access for all to higher education is fundamental to achieving that.  Nicola Sinclair, Head of Widening Participation discusses the work weâre doing to overcome barriers that prevent students from going on to university, and to enable more people from diverse backgrounds to learn, succeed and progress through higher education. While first year MSc Nursing student, Harry Hayes, shares his experience of the Universityâs Exeter Scholars scheme, and how it helped him find his path to university.
We believe that fair access to higher education improves life opportunities and outcomes for individual students, while benefiting the economy and society as a whole. Weâre committed to supporting students from all backgrounds to access, progress and succeed through higher education to ensure they reach their potential at University and as graduates.
